This correspondence was removed from 16 deteriorating scrapbooks, the first one of which bore a note: "Documents in Evidence." It consists almost exclusively of letters of commendation for services rendered to patrons of the dining cars, eating establishments, and hotels operated by Fred Harvey. Many of the compliments were written on menu cards and hotel stationery.
